LCD liquid Cristal Display

LCD does not deliver light because it’s passive in nature. In LCD fluorescent tubes are used to lighten the image. Due to fluorescent lights It doesn’t prove much clear image. Color accuracy is almost good same as LED. Wide angle is reduced to 30 degree from the center. There is not good contrast and black level in LCD.

LCD required Mercury which is harmful to the environment. LCD uses glass electrode and liquid Cristal.

Differencee Between LED and LCD

1. LED have a very good response time. LCD has slower response then LED.
2. Power consumption of LED is high. Less powers is consumed by LCD.
3. LED’s cost is higher then LCD.
4. LED provides good picture quality. LCD also deliver but less then LED
5. LED contains good contrast and black levels controls. LCD don’t have good controls on contract and black levels like LED.
6. Wider view angle is provided by the LED. In LCD wider view angle reduces 30 degree from center.
7. LED are available as big screens up to 90 inches. LCD are available in range 13 to 57 inches.
8. Mercury is used in LCD which is harmful for environmental. LED don’t use mercury.
